LUKAS SALZMANN: THE VIEWERS
May 10, 2025 - May 31, 2025

Between Absorption and Voyeurism

We present new works by Lukas Salzmann. At the heart of the exhibition is the motif of the back figure – a theme deeply rooted in art history, which the artist reinterprets within contemporary contexts. His figures do not gaze upon romanticized landscapes, but rather into urban environments or museum interiors – always turned away, immersed, observing.

Salzmann invites us to become observers of the observers, subtly questioning modes of seeing, voyeurism, and the relationship between artwork and viewer. In works such as The Kunsthaus Family or The Muse, he weaves together art-historical references with reflections on society and perception.
