Corinne Güdemann (born 1960 in Winterthur) completed the preparatory course and subsequently studied in the textile class at the School of Design in Zurich (now Zurich University of the Arts, ZHdK) from 1976 to 1982. In 1983, she moved to Vienna, where she studied painting under Arnulf Rainer at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna from 1983 to 1987. In 1989, she returned to Zurich on the occasion of an artist-in-residence grant from BINZ39, Project Sihlquai, and has lived and worked there ever since. From 1989 to 1994, she was an assistant for visual arts in the Department of Architecture at ETH Zurich.
She has exhibited in Switzerland and abroad since 1983 and has received numerous awards, grants and artist-in-residence scholarships. Her practice encompasses painting, drawing, collage, and art-in-architecture projects. She has been a freelance artist since 1994.
