Ruth Handschin (1949–2020) established her reputation as an artist primarily through immersive, site-specific “light drawings” that could be entered and experienced. Drawing on her collection of botanical “little treasures,” she explored and revealed the beauty and rich diversity of forms found in urban wild vegetation within these magical spaces.

In parallel, she investigated this theme through a variety of media, including drawings, cut-out forms, and sculptural works.

Conceived by guest curator Astrid Näff, the exhibition provides insight into this consistent artistic exploration through a selection of works on paper.
